Every journey desrves a farewell pint. As it was morning, I chose a breakfast of affordable cider at the 'spoons in Gatwick airport.
A unexpected stamp in my passport
I was expecting to transfer to a new flight in Shanghai; however, I was expecting to actually leave the airport. A bit of fuss with my baggage meant that I had to actually collect it and then go through immigration. So, I can now say I've officially been to China. I have the stamps in my passport, a Chinese Immigration Officer said, "welcome to China sir", and I took a picture outside of the airport.
